August 20th is one of the most important national holidays in Hungary. We celebrate the foundation of the state by the nation's first king, St. Stephen. Celebrations take place at the Parliament, and the riverbanks in both Buda and Pest. The highlight of the day is an impressive fireworks launched from ships on the Danube.
