A 3-month cultural festival on Margaret Island's Open-air stage and in Városmajor, Buda: concerts, musical, ballet, opera and performances for children. Kicks off on 01. June with a symphonic concert.

20. August-St. Stephen’s Day

August 18 - August 20

August 20th is one of the most important national holidays in Hungary. We celebrate the foundation of the state by the nation's first king, St. Stephen. Celebrations take place at the Parliament, and the riverbanks in both Buda and Pest. The highlight of the day is an impressive fireworks launched from ships on the Danube.

October 23rd 1956 Revolution

October 23 - October 26

23rd October is one of the most important National Days in Hungary. It marks the day when the Budapest people lead by university students protested against the Russian communist regime. Fighst broke out on the streets and the uprising ended in bloodbath. Memorial ceremonies are held at several venues in the city.
